DECA Headlines

DECA Chapters across Oklahoma are doing amazing things despite being fully virtual. I would like to highlight Edmond North DECA. I’m impressed they have about 60 chapter members this year which is about 90% of people in their DECA Marketing classes. They’ve done a community service project called the fretz clean up. To start off with this project they have picked up all the litter on fretz street because they adopted the street and they take care of the environment for that specific community. Also, they are beginning their annual North Star Angel Tree project that they organized and what they do is gather their local clubs and sports and businesses to sponsor an angel tree family to provide them with gifts and food. Additionally, along with that they usually host a dinner with games for the kids but this year they cannot but following safety precautions they are just doing a drive through dinner type of thing that will have catered food to keep it covid friendly. So far this year they currently have to do around 40 families. I’m inspired by the Edmond North DECA chapter because they are fighting the odds and helping their local community! Hopefully every chapter stays safe through this tough year.
