Oklahoma Collegiate DECA. That is such an exciting thing for me to finally be able to say and something I have been looking forward to for a very long time now. My name is Kyla Ellis and it is my pleasure to welcome you back to another great year as your very first Oklahoma Collegiate DECA President. Myself along with Vice Presidents Hailey Brunner and Kyrstan Cook have so many exciting things planned for the members of Collegiate DECA. You can visit our website https://decaok.org/collegiate_sec/ to learn more about us and find great resources published by the members of your executive council.

As we begin to establish our very first collegiate executive council we want  you to know that we are here to serve you. Did you know that you can invite members of council 1 to your events? You can! We want to be there and support you and help your chapter in any way we can, whether that is helping you start a new chapter or looking for a new opportunity for your chapter to participate in. We want to help! DECA is full of opportunities and we need your help to help spread the word and start chapters across our great state.

I just have to say that I love DECA, but I love DECA because of all of you. Members are what make the difference. I have been so fortunate to be a member of DECA for the past 4 years and I wouldn’t trade a single experience for the world. While in high school I was able to serve on state executive council 77 as the vice president of leadership and the second I finished my term I began looking to the future and started working alongside state advisor Paxton Cavin to grow collegiate DECA within the state of Oklahoma and establish the first ever collegiate DECA Executive Council.

I am so excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to see what the future holds. I know we will not only reach for the stars but we will soar in everything that we do.

Thank you members of Oklahoma Collegiate DECA. Let’s get to work!

Kyla Ellis

Oklahoma Collegiate DECA President
