DECA Headlines

Wow, time does fly when you’re having fun. As I come to the end of my journey, I sit and reminisce about everything DECA has done for me. In the beginning, it was something to do. I would’ve never expected to get this far within the organization. Being able to be apart DECA has been such a wonderful experience. I truly enjoyed everything I got to be a part of.

I would like to say thank you to my chapter for the endless amount of support and positivity. Without them, I would not be the leader I am today. As for my State Executive Council team, thank you for being the best team I could ask for. From the long meetings to the laughter at script reading rehearsals. For Mrs. Cavin, thank you for all that you’ve done for the SEC and DECA as a whole. A lot of people don’t know what it takes to plan conferences but you make it all look so easy. You’ve made meetings so fun and stress free. Once again, thank you, for everything. It feels like it happened in the blink of an eye but I’m glad I got to experience it all with the people I did.

As for Mrs. Redus, my lovely advisor. Thank you for believing in me. You pushed me to be the best I could be, always. This wouldn’t be possible without you. I’m glad I had someone so great and understanding by my side. For the past 3 years, you’ve seen me grow into the person I am today and in a way, you’ve helped mold me. You’re the best advisor a girl could ask for!

Oklahoma DECA, I didn’t forget about you. On February 13th, 2019, you chose me to represent you. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to be the best I can be for the organization. It has been so fun being able to lead a workshop and help members become better leaders. As well as meet so many new people and hear about how they found DECA. As I get closer to the end, I would like to say Thank You, one more time. To everyone who supported me and pushed me. I don’t like saying goodbye, so instead, I’ll see you later. Oh, Oklahoma DECA, thank you for voting for your pal, Val.
